Our team is comprised of the Sports Physios within the Physio Effect Clinic. If you have a running injury and are currently unable to run please book in for a Physiotherapy assessment via the online booking system or call our clinic reception on 0141 230 4766 and one of our team will talk you through your best options. We will plan to assess your running just as soon as we can get you there.
During your running injury assessment a history of the injury will be taken and a sports physiotherapy assessment and treatment performed. This may include manual treatment techniques and bespoke strength and flexibility exercises.
If your injury still allows you to run your physio may require you to do a short treadmill run to get an idea of how you run which will aid with the diagnosis and treatment plan. For this assessment we will require more time so please book for an Initial Running Assessment
We are experienced Sports Physios so don’t worry, we won’t be telling you to never run again! Our goal is to work with you and try to where possible keep you running alongside any treatment and rehab. When this isn’t possible you can expect that we will have you well informed about your injury and the timeframes you can expect to be back running. We are runners ourselves so we appreciate your pain of not running and will do everything possible to have you back enjoying pain free running
If you use a running watch to collect running data, it would be helpful if you could familiarise yourself with your weekly mileage, running plan and cadence on easy paced runs. This is not absolutely necessary but will give us extra information that can be useful in the assessment and planning.
Time: This will be a standard 45minute Physiotherapy appointment if you are currently injured and unable to run. If you are still running and able to run on the appointment please book in for a 1 hour running clinic assessment as we will assess you on the treadmill also.
Note: return appointments will be discussed as part of your treatment plan with the Physio Effect sports physiotherapist Jonny Kilpatrick. A more detailed running analysis may be suggested to get to the bottom of your symptoms and fix the problem in the most effective and sustained way.
Please do not book the option where you would like your running looked at on the treadmill on a Wednesday between 9am and 2pm as the treadmill will not be available.
